About Me

Starting at an early age, I knew I was a writer – I even have the many diaries I kept as a kid to prove it! In college I studied Journalism at The Ohio State University and served as a writer and editor for the student newspaper The Lantern. Upon receiving my bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations, I went on to work as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator for a non-profit organization. There I was introduced to the wonderful world of business copy writing.

My career has taken me many places from marketing, to planning large scale events, to promotions and public relations, but in the end it has always come back to the words on a page. Recently, I decided to leave my full-time job and focus my efforts on what I truly love – writing. My personal blog, A String of Words, describes my experiences in leaving a full-time job and navigating the world of freelance writing while trying to follow my own authentic path in life.

As a writer, I look for inspiration everywhere and I have many interests that I pursue during my free time. I especially like to read, walk my two dogs, play sand volleyball, swim, and experiment with gardening and cooking. I am also somewhat of a social butterfly and can be seen quite often out and about. And of course, I love to write about anything and everything!
